Yarner House
Yarner House is a beautiful 1660 Tudor family home set on the foot hills of Dartmoor. We are one of the first established wedding venues in Devon, running for over 20 years. We are now introducing stunning newly renovated accommodation within the house, inspired by Maja Holman, the owner, with her Scandinavian background. We aim high to make sure your special wedding day or nights stay at Yarner is luxurious, relaxing and peaceful.
Welcome to Yarner House, a beautiful family run Bed and Breakfast wedding venue on Dartmoor. With a recent 5* renovation we are the perfect Scandinavian inspired luxury hide away.
Located at the foot of Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor this stunning 17th century Tudor manor house offers a unique and atmospheric experience. The beautiful views across the Wray Valley boast some of the best vistas in Devon and our exclusive selling point is to offer exceptional accommodation in an idyllic historic retreat. Away from the bustle of city life, Yarner offers the perfect escape to a hidden gem in this peaceful family run venture. We offer a home from home atmosphere making our guests feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
As one of the first wedding venues in Devon we are proud of our extensive knowledge of how to run a successful wedding business. We have a beautiful airy big hall that can stand up to 75 guests or 45 standing. We also offer a beautiful hand build African Hut which lies just below the house. Both of these locations on the property have wedding licenses. This can seat up to 40 guests and stand 100. We have extensive knowledge of local suppliers for marquees, catering and accommodation. We have a strong ethos with staying local to Dartmoor and Devon when it comes to suppliers.
Our stunning rooms at Yarner offer four luxuriously decorated bedrooms each with their own bathroom. The rooms are individual with comfortable beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, fresh plump towels and flowers picked from the garden. Rooms also come with White Company branded bathroom accessories and Dartmoor Soap company soap.
At Yarner we offer a delicious continental breakfast for all our guests. We include local produce from Dartmoor as we love to keep things fresh. Our breakfast includes tea, coffee, yogurt and muesli, cereals, juice, local jams and fresh bread. To make is extra special we offer croissants freshly baked from our local baker, cheese and local ham and fresh seasonal fruit. If you have any dietary requirements please contact us before arriving. This is served in our stunning dining room that you will be shown on arrival.
Included in the price we offer our guests a kitchen which is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. Our guests can buy local produce from Ullacombe farm which is just a few minutes drive away. There is a large wooden dining table and chairs within the open plan kitchen offering you the chance to relax with friends whilst preparing meals. The sitting room is light and airy with comfortable sofas and a stunning skylight which affords the room plenty of natural daylight. There is a large flat screen TV and lots of classic board games including cards and dominoes, for your use.
Information packs are given on arrival to help guide you in and around Yarner House and the environs. We offer ample safe parking outside the house. As a boutique guesthouse we don’t offer accommodation for infants and children under 12. Each room is for 2 persons maximum.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our home.
Lily, Maja, the Holman family and team.
