Known for his work on Central European art and music, Gavin’s writing, broadcasting and lecturing projects span various periods and disciplines. His widely acclaimed first book, A Home for All Seasons, is out now, while his other recent projects include Klimt and the Kiss, shown in cinemas worldwide and on Sky Arts. You can find Gavin’s work in newspapers and magazines – he is a regular contributor to Country Life – as well as opera and concert programmes around the world. He appears frequently on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and Monocle 24. Gavin lectures widely and has recently given talks for the Hay Festival, the Royal Philharmonic Society, the National Trust, the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the National Theatre, the National Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts, the British Museum, Tate, Wigmore Hall and the Royal Opera House. He is an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society. Born in Dundee in 1981, Gavin is half-Welsh, half-English. He studied music at Keble College, Oxford. Gavin lives in Herefordshire with his husband, Alastair Tighe, and their dog, Nimrod.
