delimann Since the doors of Mann & Son first opened in Bovey Tracey in 1837, there have been many changes to the world of retail. One thing, however, has remained, a passion for great quality food and first class customer service. From the days when James's father would carry milk in a bucket, measure it and deliver directly to customers' doorstep and clotted cream was made in the enamel pans in the back of the shop, the Mann family business is synonomous with the South Devon town. Now, over 170 years later, from the same but greatly extended premises, the Delimann operates from the tongue-in-cheek Deli Towers, dispatching wonderful deli gifts and products throughout the UK. "We try to reflect the quality, tastes and variety of our Dartmoor deli online through the Delimann, with local produce and those products that are definately not found on supermarket shelves. Our Devonshire Cream Tea is our signature gift without a doubt - there are not many places in the country where you can buy the real deal!" says Gill Mann. Devon Guild of Craftsmen The Devon Guild of Craftsmen The largest contemporary crafts centre in the South West exhibiting work by around 280 makers, many of national and international standing, in the converted grade II listed Riverside Mill at Bovey Tracey on the fringes of Dartmoor. The diversity of crafts range from the traditional to the cutting-edge contemporary and includes metalwork, jewellery, furniture, sculpture, ceramics, prints, glass, textiles and photography of an international standard. Following a major refurbishment the venue now boasts the spacious Jubilee Gallery, an extended Craft Shop and The Terrace café with rooftop seating, reinforcing its reputation as the main focus for contemporary crafts in the South West and a leading visitor attraction with over 120,000 annual visitors. There is an outstanding programme of exhibitions and events plus constantly changing work by leading makers in the craft shop. The Terrace café has gained an enviable reputation being described by The Independent as ‘the best café in the area’ serving a wide range of home-made snacks and meals using local and seasonal produce, catering for a wide range of diets including vegetarian and vegan. One of the few free ‘all weather’ attractions in the region and a great stop-off (2 miles off the Exeter-Plymouth A38 expressway) if visiting Dartmoor or on your way to visit the Eden Project or Cornwall.
